This publication is related to the paper, our VAVANY-study-group published in 2012 concerning asthma and wheezing in urban living children of Antananarivo.

Next year in March, Dr. Peter Th. Wolff will present a poster concerning the MAKI-Study at the AAAAI Annual Meeting in Philadelphia /PA, USA. This will take place on Monday, 16 March 2020, in the Poster-Session “Asthma Epidemiology and Outcomes” at 09:45 – 10:45.
In about two weeks, Dr. Sabina Illi will present a poster concerning the MAKI-Study at the EAACI congress in Losboa / Portugal. This will take place on Monday, 9 June 2019, in the Poster-Session at 13:15 – 15:15.
Due to personal reasons it took some time to do the first draft. But with the help of the partners in Madagascar it’s available by now.
We hope that the publication will be feasible this year.

For all being interested in the atmosphere in Fihaonana while performing the MAKI-study, we published some picture in our gallery.
Today we finished the data collection of the MAKI-study after visiting eight different villages in the vicinity of Fihaonana.
We examined 212 children aged 8 – 14 years doing a lung function, an allergen testing and asking questions concerning their health (ISAAC questionnaire).
Our team did a great job hereby sorting out many unexpected problems.
The MAKI-study is going to start in mid-May. Our preparations are almost finished and we expect the brochures to document the results from lung functions, allergy tests and questionnaires in the next days.
Melanie Götschke will be part of the team in Fihaonana (Madagascar).
