In about two weeks, Dr. Sabina Illi will present a poster concerning the MAKI-Study at the EAACI Congress in Lisbon / Portugal. This will take place on Monday, 3 June 2019, in the PDS Dome in e-Poster Area B (FIL) at 13:45 – 15:15.
Due to personal reasons it took some time to do the first draft. But with the help of the partners in Madagascar it’s available by now.
We hope that the publication will be feasible this year.
Melanie Götschke – our postgraduate working on the MAKI-study – and Sabina Illi finished the statistical work.
For all being interested in the atmosphere in Fihaonana while performing the MAKI-study, we published some picture in our gallery.
Today we finished the data collection of the MAKI-study after visiting eight different villages in the vicinity of Fihaonana.
We examined 212 children aged 8 – 14 years doing a lung function, an allergen testing and asking questions concerning their health (ISAAC questionnaire).
Our team did a great job hereby sorting out many unexpected problems.
The MAKI-study is going to start in mid-May. Our preparations are almost finished and we expect the brochures to document the results from lung functions, allergy tests and questionnaires in the next days.
Melanie Götschke will be part of the team in Fihaonana (Madagascar).
Effective from January 8th, 2013, we obtained the approval from the German Ethics Committee for the MAKI-study
In the upcoming weeks, we will work on preparing the first roadshow for parents in Fihaonana.
