Malagasy Kids with Asthma and Allergy (MAKI)-Study is aimed to investigate the role of asthma and allergy for kids living in rural Madagascar. For this purpose some 200 children will invited to take part.
The study will take place in Fihaonana, a village 60 km north of Antananarivo, Madagascar’s capital, in the central highland.
All children taking part will fill out a modified ISAAC – questionnaire. To have more information about asthma and allergy, a lung function and an allergy test will be done.
The study will be conducted by a Malagasy-German team under the direction of Prof. Dr. A. Robinson (University of Antananarivo) and Prof. Dr. E. von Mutius (Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich) and Dr. Peter Th. Wolff.
